Joint Venture (JV) Overview

Joint Venture Partners

All is Not Lost!

Are you unable to get that financial boost you need to break into a new market and tap into new potential income? Well, all might not be lost. Some people never stop to think that the answer to some of their company's financial issues might not lie in outside investments. Instead the answer might be to pool resources with other companies in the same situation.

How Can a Joint Venture Partner Help?
Here is a real world example of how a joint venture partnership can be profitable: Company A is a new marketing firm with fresh ideas and loads of energy and company B has a brilliant new product with very little capital to market their product. Well, the two companies decide to work together allowing company B to utilize the resources of company A to generate income for both companies.

However the truth is a joint venture is not always this simple. Sometimes a Joint Venture is between two companies doing the exact same thing and are actually competitors in a market. These types of ventures benefit by pooling together thier shares of the market and using the increased revenue to boost themselves to the next level.

And by "resources", we do not always mean M-O-N-E-Y. Sometimes it can be people, research, and/or simply sending an endorsement out to newsletter subscribers. Sending a joint "endorsement" to a newsletter is actually one of the most common, low-level Join Ventures used on the web today.

However you spell it out, if you plan it correctly and find the right partner, your joint venture can result in a very profitable experience for both parties.

How do I Find JV Partners?

This is where it gets tricky. You can't very well go searching the yellow pages calling other companies asking "do you want to be my parther?" Even though stranger things have been known to happen, here are a some methods to finding that dream joint venture partner we all need.

Keep in mind that the "easy way" usually requires payment of some sort. I recommend that you consider the phrase "time is money." Think about the amount of time you would have to spend to render the same results that are provided online joint venter partnership programs.

Consider saving your time by paying the (usually) minimal cost of some of the available services.

The Easy Way
There are online services that have researched and located companies that are in need of joint venture partners. They have categorized the prospects and developed an online environment that allows these prospects to comunicate securely.

Online JV services are -without a doubt- at least worth researching.

Consider being in a room filled with people that share your goals and common interests and are also seeking a joint venture partnership. I know it sounds like a some kind of online business dating website, and in all actuality it is. What a great concept, the internet is actually being used for communication of mindless advertising.

Another hint: Find one of these services that are just starting up. This way you get the benefits of a lower rate and a bunch of other freebies. Marketing Hwy will be happy to help you with this concidering that it falls under that category.

The Hard Way
For those of you who either don't have the finances to go the "easy way" but still need a joint venture partner, here are some helpfull tips:

  • The library or Book store--I'm not trying to be funny. The libraries and book stores have most of the recent publications of business magazines including some industry specific magazines. Search for publications on companies making moves that fall in line with you company goals. You will surely get a company name and have an easy conversation starter like, "hey, I saw your article."
  • The Internet--Back to our old friend. This can be used in same manner as the library/bookstore method. Read online publications and company profiles. A quick email from the contact us pages can serve as an introduction. Although, calling will most likely get a better response than an email (for larger corporations).
  • Organization Memberships--By the time you get here you would probably regret not taking the easy route. Annual memberships to some industry orgranizations can be pretty costly. However, they can not only help with finding a joint venture partner. They can also create some leads and keep you abreast of new industry developments.
  • The Phone Book--If done correctly, you will be surprised what you can accomplish with the good old golden book of names. I would recomend that instead of calling to "get partners", ask the company to send you some information. You can then use the requested infomation to determine if they are a potential candidate.
  • Networking--Can you imagine what life was before technology? How did people communicate and build big businesses. Its simple, Tom told Dick and Dick told Harry. What i'm saying is, talk to people. While sitting next to a person on the train, spark up a conversation, you never know where it might lead.

Happy Hunting!
